About Tanagura Town

　福島県棚倉町は福島県南の人口1万4千人ほどの町です。ある意味、ふつうの町なのですが、仕事でご縁があり月に1回程通っているうちに、たくさんの人に出会い大好きになりました。場所は福島県の南、八溝山のふもとに位置し栃木県・茨城県との県境にあります。町内を久慈川が流れています。

　江戸時代にはここに棚倉藩があり、東北の玄関口として重要な役目を果たしました。棚倉城の城主は次々と変わり、１６代城主によって治められました。町には一の宮が２つある他、小さな神社やお寺が数多くあります。

　町の中心と離れると田園風景が広がり、特産品では米、野菜、いちご、ブルーベリーがあります。八溝山の自然を生かしたキャンプ場やハイキングコースもあります。またゴルフ場には関東から多くの人がやってきます。

About Tanagura Town, Fukushima Prefecture,Japan

Tanagura Town, Fukushima Prefecture is a general town with a population of about 14,000 people in the south of Fukushima Prefecture. I have a business relationship and I go to the town about once a month.Tanagura Town is located at the foot of Mt. Ymizo, on the border with Tochigi Prefecture and Ibaraki Prefecture．Kuji River flows here．

In the Edo period there was the domain of Tanagura, which played an important role as the gateway to the Tohoku region. The lords of Tanagura Castle changed one after another and became the 16^th.There are two Ichinomiya in the town,and many small shrines and temples.

Rural scenery spreads away from the center of town. Rice, vegetables, strawberries and blueberries are grown here. There are also campsites, hiking trails and Golf courses.
